A career in medicine can start with simply a seed planted (an idea or a dream of what you can become), watered with exciting and authentic curriculum, and finding growth in an academic setting that encourages personal achievement and knowledge attainment.  Though some high school students may not see themselves as “college material”, the coursework in Move-up is intended to prepare students for the next steps: taking college courses to transfer to a four year college, or completing education in one of the medical careers offered at Oregon Coast Community College (OCCC). The Move-up program partners with OCCC to ensure student growth continues successfully by offering coursework that aligns with the future courses students will be required to complete to earn a degree or certification through OCCC.
